Bright Angel TrailCanyon trail with creeks, water stations, and amazing destinations.
Bright Angel Trail is the canyons most popular trail. This trail has magnificent views and great destinations. Our first stop will be 1.5 mile rest-house where we will have some snacks and discuss the different layers of the canyon along with the geology of the area. We will then snake down to 3 mile rest-house where we will go behind the rest house to see some huge expansive views and get away from the trail for a bit. You can stand at the edge of a giant drop-off and have some alone time in this area. If the group would like to continue and the guide feels you are doing great, we will head down to Indian gardens where Garden Creek awaits us. We will soak our feet in the creek and have a satisfying lunch as we have gone 4.5 miles from the trail-head now. We can explore around Indian Gardens and see some of the canyon’s rich history. This area was home to many Native Americans and you can definitely feel the past come alive. If the group feels like rock stars, we will do the flat 1.5 miles to Plateau Point where a giant overlook of the Colorado River and Devil’s Corkscrew await you. Some of the canyon’s biggest 360 views are here and this is a legendary spot. Bright Angel destinations.
At Only Grand Canyon Day Hikes, we use only name brand gear. Our packs are made by Camelbak and our trekking poles are Mountainsmith. We include a free brand new bladder for every hiker coming with us in the canyon. Having been a gear tester for Backpacker Magazine, I understand how being properly outfitted can be the difference between a dream hike and a nightmare trip. Please call or e-mail anytime with questions from what boot to consider to which materials are best for the canyon.
